What to Wear in your Senior Photo Session?
College Station Senior Photographer, Downtown Bryan Senior Portraits
It’s your Senior year in high school. You made it to Senior Sunrise, you painted the parking spot, and booked your Senior photographer. But now your Senior photo session is one week away, and the dreaded question surfaces- what to wear to my Senior Photo Session?
When you work with me, I provide a Senior wardrobe guide after booking with lots of examples for you to consider. Here are my best tips:
Neutrals work well in any location. Neutral colors allow you to be the focal point of your photo session, placing the emphasis where it should be- you. You can achieve neutral tones with solid colors of light patterns.
Solid colors of any kind can be weaved into your story. Often a brighter solid color, like a red or yellow will complement your location. I have my clients text me photos of their photos and I plan specific locations around their outfit choices.
Layers photograph nicely, adding texture and depth to your portraits. For boys, this can come in the form of a blazer or vest. For girls picking dresses, ask yourself these two questions: Are there added textures that create interest- flowy sleeves, lace, belts? Is it a dress that will provide flow and movement?
The last thing to keep in mind is that this is your photo session, so if you have a really unique outfit that you love, just bring it! It could create some really fun portraits that reflect who you are as a person. I have a pop up tent at every session for easy changing in any location for your convenience.
Celebrate this season! You are only a high school senior once and you deserve a great Senior photo experience.
