Senior Portraits- What to Expect
The worst of the Texas winter is behind us and here in College Station, things will be warming up quickly. If you haven’t booked your Senior Portraits, the time is now.
Senior portraits are important to me because I have had three children graduate over the last four years. When your kids are in high school, it seems as if that time will extend into eternity, but it’s a very finite four years. These are the last professional portraits that you will schedule for your Senior from now until their wedding. Let that sink in for just a moment.
When you book Senior portraits with me, the first thing you receive is a style guide. This will help your Senior pick outfits for their shoot that make them feel their best. The next thing you receive is a questionnaire and this is where the magic happens. If your Senior wants their dog, their car, or instrument in their photos, this helps me build ideas for their shoot and help you choose a location. After you fill out the questionnaire, you will have the option for a zoom call. I also ask your Senior for any inspiration photos or Pinterest boards they have been collecting.
Every Senior has a different vision and I am here to bring their vision to life and also capture those photos that you want for your home. About two days before the shoot, I will scout the location. I do this even at the locations that I use multiple times throughout the year, because foliage and light change so rapidly.
When the day of the shoot is here, I will text you and let you know the exact location. I will have a wagon and pop up tent on hand and the shoot takes about 1.5-2 hours depending on outfit changes. I will always ask the parent to jump in a photo or two. I hold Senior shoots at golden hour, which changes throughout the year.
Depending on the package you purchased and the time of year, you will receive your photos back anywhere from 3-14 days. You will receive a gallery with the designated number of digitals you purchased and have the option to purchase prints and products. I am here to walk you through that part if needed, but I will not be meeting you in person to offer sales. I believe in giving parents the space and time to evaluate what they really want on their own timeline.
After that, our job together is done but feel free to reach out with questions. I am here to make this memorable and hassle free! Lean in, and enjoy the rest of your Senior’s school year.
