The Magic of Studio Photograpy for Children

When I first became a photographer, the words, “Studio Photography” made me cringe.  I had visions of church directory photos and studios in malls.  I could envision the picture sitting on my mother’s dresser with an extra head in the top right hand corner of me as a five year old looking out to the side of the frame.

Enter Modern Studio photography.  It’s a timeless alternative to these cheesy portraits we took in the mall in the 1980s.  It’s clean.  It’s minimalistic.  And it mimics natural light.

So why go to a studio to get your portraits done when you can use the beautiful natural landscapes?

It’s weather proof.  No sweating in the Texas heat.  No worrying about the frizzies in your hair getting worse as the shoot goes on.  No worrying about Texas winds getting up to 35 mph and blowing your hair all around, not in a flattering way.

No critters.  No accidentally showing up at the same location as other people and fighting for space.

Clean, neutral colors to decorate your home.  Simple background to keep your focus on your child.

Studio portraiture can feel magical for a child.  It gives them an opportunity to showcase their true personality and creates beautiful heirloom images for your space.
